Life Lesson No. 12 – Choices, Chances, Changes.

Hello friends! It has certainly been too long since my last blog post of the beginning of the school year. It’s hard to believe we are starting the month of October. This first quarter of school has certainly flown by. I promise I will update you all soon on the many activities of the Midwest Central FFA Chapter.  We have a great group of kids in our program this year and I’m excited to share their accomplishments with you!

Even though we have all been busy traveling, overseeing and living through major house renovations, taking care of kids, being pregnant with twins, starting a new career, getting ready for the harvest season and any other curve ball life has thrown at us, Holly, Emily and I managed to sneak in an evening together where we recorded a new podcast!  Sometimes, you just need a night with your great friends. It’s good for the soul – I highly recommend it!

While I was producing this podcast, I kept thinking about how crazy this past year has been for all of us – it has certainly been a year full of change.  As you all know, I am a big fan of quotes and I stumbled across this one and I feel it fits this podcast perfectly – “You must make a Choice to take a Chance or your life will never Change.”

I am by no means perfect and I am still working on getting this teaching business down pat, but I have been fortunate enough to have the support of many who have been more than willing to answer my crazy questions and also help with my off-the-wall-ideas (because if you know me, you know I have a TON of those). l admit, making the choice to leave LG Seeds to take a chance at teaching future generations about agriculture was a tough one, but it certainly has changed our life in ways I never thought possible.

Whether it’s from the lesson I am teaching or from the kids I work with, I truly learn something new each and every day.  So, if you’re ever “on the fence” and need to make a decision, jut remember, “You must make a Choice, to take a Chance or your life will never Change.”  Change can be a good thing (yes, it can be good and scary at the same time)- embrace it with everything you’ve got!

Please feel free to listen to our latest podcast and as always, feedback is appreciated!

I was so excited to pop onto soundcloud today and see ‘Confessions of a farm wife’. I wanted Emily to ask you if you were doing them anymore because I like to listen to it while I am at work. But, she was to embarrassed to ask!!
